so there is this icon of what looks like two foglights or something taht comes on when i have my lights on

yeah it just letting you know your headlamps are on. Its very very normal. Whenever i drive my parents around, they always yell at me for "leaving your brights on" all the while its just that little headlamp indicator... lol

Nope. I didn't have auto lights on my 3 and i don't have them on the MS3 and both have that indicator.

mmm kinda an odd indicator...

Got'em on the 8. Kinda annoying when it's really dark out. The rest of the instrument panel is just all gauges and needles and..... BAM.....There's this bright annoying green light on.

My wife's saturn has a light that says the daytime running lights are on that shuts off when the auto lights turn on. If it is dark, you should know if you have the headlights on. I guess some people can't figure that one out.
