I have an extra headlight rod if that's what ends up being the problem. I bought it when I thought that's what was causing my light to bounce around a lot and it turned out the whole headlight frame only had one bolt in it holding it to the car, lol.

Also, I'd stay away from those "rear window kits" on eBay. I tried that at first where you just cut out the old window and glue in a piece of clear plastic in its place. The glue would not stick very well and it was very hard to get it lined up and stretched perfectly over the opening since once you cut out the window there is no rigidity to the window flap at all. First time I tried to latch the top the strain popped the glue off in several places. Even if you could get it lined up properly, I think the glue would wear out from the stress of putting the top up and down a few times and who wants a Miata if you can't drop the top!

Sweet! Yeah, I'll take a peak at the headlight this weekend when it's light out & I have some time (or, "if" I get the time I should say haha!), and if it's the rod that snapped, I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands

Actually, I just got off the phone with a local upholstery place that said they would put in a new one for $300, so that's probably what I'll do, as that's what the cheap softtops seem to be going for online, but without labor. The vinyl seems to be in pretty good shape, and it latches work great, so I think I'll just have a new plastic piece sewn back in.

There were a few, but I still think more would be nice It's his car now, so it would be nice to have some documentation of what it's like before he does much to it (not sure 100% on what's planned, but pics never hurt)/

LOL, there were several on the Craigslist ad.... and I'll take more, but will probably wait until I get the hood, light and rear window fixed haha!

As far as eventual mods go... well, I want to see how this suspension performs at an autoX and go from there. NA mods don't seem to do much to these cars (this car has a no-name intake & Magnaflow exhaust on it), I suppose I might pickup a set of headers, but it seems kind of pointless for the potentially small gains... I'll probably just learn to drive this thing, and when I see an area I feel it's lacking in, I'll address it accordingly... I won't lie, long term, I'll probably get bored and boost it haha, but we'll see.

Just took a look at it in the light... yep, it's the headlight rod. The bushings came off, and the rod is now fairly bent up at one end. I was able to straighten it out a bit, but without the bushings, it's fairly useless haha. The motor/light work just fine though.

Any chance you happen to have spare headlight rod bushings as well?

I have some extra parts that I ended up not using. I have a pair of Racing Beat front springs and a NA front break upgrade from Goodwin Racing (Brand new rotors and pads). The breaks where on the car and have about 100 miles on them. I am willing to part with these for extremely cheap if you are interested.

Well, the car actually has a full set of Tein Flex coilovers that I was planning on keeping, so I'm going to have to pass on the springs. I think the front brakes are pretty decent for now, but I'll check them out and let you know. Thanks for the offer

No new pics yet, I've been wicked busy this weekend, but should have the car titled, and have the rear window replaced this Wednesday and the body work to follow shortly after. Sometime around then I'll take a few pics.
