I looked at the new Volvo hatch back actually, but I wasn't willing to pay nearly 30k for something I wasn't really fond of to begin with.

$30K for the new C30, WTF?!? Was it fully loaded with everything physically possible? That car starts at $23,800+$825 Delivery Charge and currently has $1500 in "Volvo Allowance" (Rebate)... that car shouldn't be anywhere near $30k IMO. Unless we're talking about financing in negative equity, ect. Or if we're talking amount financed over X number of years... or maybe a REALLY loaded C30.

I actually kind of like that car... don't know what it is, I just like the idea of a turbo inline 5. ?!?

I was checkin them out when they first came out in the US, fully loaded with financing (for me) was around 30k at Sill-Ter Har Volvo/Ford or however its spelt. At the time, I also had a crappy GTI for a trade in and a 30k loan in my name so financing was not in my favor nor was a trade in that was worth the same amount I owed.

Something about the way it looked just threw me off. Not sure if it was the back window, it looks funny to me, or the fact that I was trying to get rid of the current hatch I already had and didn't want another or what, but I just wasn't easily sold on it. Plus insurance was extremely expensive for me at the time as well.
