Good to hear, I hope so. The guy I spoke to on the phone was straight forward and honest (sounding, at least- haha)

LOL, I know the tut is getting mods...wtf? The "hp crack addict" convinced me to stop being such a woose:p

Synapse is on its way from RPM. Then TWM SS, Cobb Turbo Inlet, Cobb SRI, and CPE mount coming from SU:) Mark from SU was really helpful. Always responded to my emails, beat RPM's price for the SS, and gave me 5% off on top of that. 10% woulda been nicer, but I'm not complaining...or am I:lol:

...I'm already thinking about more stuff, HA!

Tell me about it! When I bought this car I told my wife, "I could've dumped three grand into the Audi and it still wouldn't perform as well, AND it would still be just as unreliable"....NOW, here I am putting money into a perfectly decent-performing car and reading threads about smoking turbos:huh::o:eek::lol:

When will I learn...

you should get a before and after log of your boost...would be really interesting to see the differences.

I assume that's what a dashhawk would accomplish?

Also, after mods are added people speak of tunes. What is that exactly? Is that different than Standback, Accessport, etc.?

yep, dashhawk would work. Tune meaning you should get your car tuned after mods, via any of the available tuning devices such as the Cobb AP or Standback/Piggyback. I will be grabbing a Cobb AP in the future, especially with the tuner software released.

You will never learn as this will bite you the rest of your years....;)

Mine is smoking, it just pushed me to go bigger.....hehe

I ask myself he same question.......yet my answer is the same "oh, I need that!!" and "that looks nice" or "who needs grass in the back yard"

You will at least have fun with the install/education and the fun noises your about to unleash upon yourself.

Quick educational update for those interested. I recently visited near-sea level with my MS3. Did a couple logs for kicks and voila...perfect Boost...or near. I even hit 17psi in 4th which quickly tapered down and held at 15psi. 1+2 gear were hitting 13-14psi as well. Looks like I will be investing in an AP before a BOV as mine is clearly working fine. For reference, my highest PSI in Colorado was 13psi, generally tapering down to 11-12. :( So I am losing 3-4 psi from elevation :( Makes me a sad panda, but hey, its not leaking

These graphs alone should be enough to convince someone to get an AP or standback. Without the AP I was in the same boat, peak at 14 PSI and taper off to 9 PSI by redline. With the AP I now peak at 18-19PSI and hold 16 PSI to redline.

Granted this turbo is not efficient past 15PSI at this altitude, but it still makes for a lot more power available in the upper rpm range.
2006 SPEED6 Liquid Platinum Sport w/ Nav
Mods Completed - VG Sharkfin, 3M Clear Bra, SU Motor Mount, SU Test Pipe, 35% tint, VEI Digital Boost Gauge, Custom Defrost Vent Pod, PG Exhaust Manifold, CPE Turbo Inlet Pipe, CPE FMIC, Hacked Mazdaspeed CAI into SRI, Synapse BOV, Cobb Accessport EMS Tuner, CPE Dual 3" Catback Exhaust
Mods Needed - Catted Downpipe and finally a tune.
