Valid points, truly. But I don't like the fact that cops assume EVERYONE is a criminal. I have nothing to hide and spent an extra week before I drove my car making sure everything was up to DOT rules before it left my driveway. I have still gotten the fuckeye from every cop I go near just because I drive an import. I got the same thing when I drove a bright red 69 Camaro(300hp 327). Never got a single look, never mind a double take in my Super Duty, and it was 300hp 946 pounds of torque. My truck was the scariest thing on the road. 5 inch exhaust and all. Never once even got looked at or pulledd over. I'm just saying, Land of the free? Innocent until proven guilty......bull@!#$. We are becoming more and more of a police state and it's being thinly veiled undeer the threat of terrorism. I am sorry if I got a little sideways here, just miss my country being based on the constitution ann not some bs campaign promises.
So... not to cause an arguement, but this isn't the best outloook. Child Molesters, Rapists, Murderers, Drug Traffickers, etc. also get pulled over by cops for things such as no front license plate and no rear plate light. Very often that is what gives the Officer probable cause to pull the vehicle over. Once the vehicle is pulled over it gives the Officer the chance to check for warrants, get a peek inside the car, etc. and will often lead to an arrest. It happens all the time. Not to mention that at a glance, they can't distinguish you from one of the types of criminals mentioned above. You also have to understand that Police Departments have different divisions. Some Officers are assigned to traffic, others to a gang unit, some to a DUI unit, etc. To say they should all be out looking for a certain type of criminal is a little extreme.
Also, when you think about it in extremes, you are violating a legitimate law. If you don't have your plate properly mounted according to statute, they can pull you over and issue a ticket.
With all of that being said, it is important to know that many agencies won't actually pull you over for things such as no front plate. Denver is one of those examples. Colorado State Patrol, however, will pull you over in a heartbeat for no plate, cracked windshield, obstructed vision, and no plate lights. It is also important to know that the "meter maids" in Denver will issue a ticket for no front plate. Last time I checked it was around $30, but I may be wrong.
Anyway, I'm not trying to be an ass, just encouraging everyone to think about this from another angle.

Those are some points I can agree with. Cops (majority) do look at everyone like a criminal, is it right no...human nature yes. I do say majority because I know a few who don't do it. I was pulled over for "running a stop sign" which I was actually stopped at, and then grilled about why the paint of my car didn't match the VIN. I have Black Cherry Mica, VIN says red (because it is the underlying main color). So I know exactly what you mean about imports. The veil of terrorism...lets just say agreed. I don't do the political discussion thing cause it always causes someone to get butt hurt...we will just suffice it to say that I agree with you.

I've been pulled over twice so far, and no mention of not having a front plate, by the Denver PD. The parking jackass I argued with a couple of months ago was in the process of writing a ticket for it when I came out after seeing him leave a parking ticket on the car. I will say that much, if you don't have a front plate, do NOT street park in downtown Denver. You will get a ticket.

You know, a front license plate serves no purpose. Also hate that some dick bureaucrat denied a no front plate requirement bill because he cannot appreciate how frickin sexy cars look without them.
Ok, off my box now.
With that said, if I do get pulled for no plate....it will probably be put back on. So far so good...but knowing my luck...

Pics? If it looks good, maybe that'll be my solution.[/b]

No one ever believes me when I tell them that having it in the windshield is just as illegal as not having one at all, except even more identifiable.
FWIW though, to the other guy that got one, it won't affect your insurance since it is an equipment violation. Only moving violations have an effect on insurance.
Jinxed myself too....got a ticket while parked downtown last week. Plate was in the windshield.[/b]
