Very little "driving" was involved. I did left foot brake and bring the revs up a little while waiting for the turn arrow to change, and I had to steer through the corner, but other than that, the automatic transmission did all the shifting.

And oh- I think I figured out my check engine light. The code was for insufficient EGR flow. Well, that will happen when the EGR valve isn't plugged in electrically! Oops. The valve is buried down between a bunch of wire bundles and fuel lines so I couldn't see it when I put everything back together.
