They quoted me $215+tax for a new windshield for the Miata including new molding, which it needs because the current molding is chipped to hell from hail. Thinking about doing it.

The ultra common P/U & SUV domestic windshields can be bought for around $160. That's about a cheap as a new windshield can be. Drive something unusual and the price goes up. Glass, labor, adhesive and moulding for $200-250, is actually pretty good.

Once apon a time, I heard that the Subaru sports car thingy had a $1500 windshield. Had some special coating and the glass was part of the chassis strength and went deeper down under the hood. This is the car that had the Delorian style small opening side windows.
