I don't mind it, as I've read, it was Nissan's backdoor as a hot hatch buy calling it a "crossover".

What I want to know is...at what point did Mazda decide it was OK for SUVs / crossovers to look like the Furai? And more importantly, why? It's definitely an improvement over the CX-7 and CX-9, but still ugly IMO. Looks like a Hyundai ####ed a Volvo, and the CX-5 was the resulting bastard child. The shape of the grill doesn't fit on an SUV...the point at the bottom doesn't go with anything. And don't get me started on the curved line across the doors...looks like a poor afterthought that some marketing person insisted be included, because it's "edgy" or something. That line does nothing to tie the overall look together...it just plain doesn't belong, no matter how I look at it. Classy, yet sporty, is what I'd want out of a mid-size SUV...not "edgy". But then, I haven't been a fan of any of the new Mazda designs...I MUCH prefer the previous generation. I guess, maybe, I'm not part of the market that Mazda is going after...I wouldn't buy any new Mazda (save for an RX-8, which is a carryover from the previous generation anyway), which is a shame

Edit: Ok, after studying the pics more, it's not as bad as I made it out to be, I don't hate it. And the CX-9 is nice looking aside from the smiley face. But, I still wouldn't buy either :P

I like it! Tim have you seen the review/photos of the two in camo? Something about them looks slightly mean to me. Maybe it's just me? My mom is looking for a new car to replace the Tribute. This just might be the car to keep her in a Mazda.

I personally really like the design on this CX-5. I really hope Mazda wises up and keeps the styling as-is and also gives us a "hot version" with the turbo DISI motor and optional all-wheel-drive. That would be awesome!

As far as the Juke, I actually really like them, but I also like cars with somewhat funky styling- makes them different. I loathe cars that all looks the same- Accord, Camry, nearly an GM sedan, etc. They just all blend in, which I'm not about.
