Surely we don't expect those of you "out-of-towners" to join every meet! LOL! However, we have our big meets that we're planning over the summer, do you think you can come up to any of those? We'd love to meet you!

It's not what you drive, it's how you drive it.

I was in the AF. I took the lead and getting people together in my units. Never had a problem making exercise maandatory either. LOL

Unit gatherings that we did in the Army, while not always fun and enjoyable, did bring people closer together. I now see it from a civilian side in my A.F. job and their togetherness is much more lacking. I know it is hard to get all the members together being that "you can't make me do that" in a friendly group gathering of auto buffs. Yah Gotta hang out to find out the bits and pieces that make everyone up. How else are you going to make fun of so-and-so when she or he has that goofy laugh or funny tic. I unfourtunately am still in Arizona and it looks like I will be for some time. I will be up that way occasionally visiting and would like to look up the club. Good luck. Clay.

Give me a break. I served 20 years in the Air Force and I now work as a GS with the Army. I can tell you that there was more camaraderie in many of the AF units I was in than in the Army one. And it didn't come from mandatory PT or forced get-togethers or hanging out shooting the shit. Those were a RESULT of cohesion and camaraderie. The camaraderie itself came from a group of diverse people having a common goal, mission, set of beliefs, or some combination thereof.

That's what we have here. Not all of us are car-meet type people. I would LOVE to go to every meet and hang out and shoot the shit and go to ANgie's divorce party and Bree's b-day. But I have a wife and four kids and a shiteload of responsibilities. What draws me to the people of the club is not hanging out with them, but the shared interest in our Mazdas and what the cars have come to mean to us.
