Every guy who I have met that owns one has been a dumb ass that thinks His shit don't stink. I'm not saying that everyone is like this. I would buy a porsche over this car any day. I'm a little bias because my dad is a porsche guy.

Porsches are a bit pricier than a Lotus. Base model Elise runs $48K, I believe.

I'd take a Lotus over Porshe any day!!!! I love its body, OMG it's so sexy!

Here's your actual comparison...

Porshe Boxser:

Exterior
Length: 171.6 in. Width: 70.9 in.
Height: 50.9 in. Wheel Base: 95.1 in.
Ground Clearance: 4.8 in. Curb Weight: 2887 lbs.
Gross Weight: 3571 lbs.
Interior
Front Head Room: 38.3 in. Front Shoulder Room: 51.5 in.
Luggage Capacity: 9.9 cu. ft. Maximum Cargo Capacity: 10 cu. ft.
Maximum Seating: 2

Performance
Base Number of Cylinders: 6 Base Engine Size: 2.7 liters
Base Engine Type: Horizontally Opposed Horsepower: 245 hp
Max Horsepower: 6500 rpm Torque: 201 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 4600 rpm Drive Type: RWD
Turning Circle: 36.4 ft.

Fuel
Fuel Tank Capacity: 16.9 gal.
EPA Mileage Estimates: (City/Highway)
Manual: 20 mpg / 29 mpg Automatic: : 19 mpg / 26 mpg
Range in Miles: (City/Highway)
Automatic: 321.1 mi. / 439.4 mi. Manual: 338 mi. / 490.1 mi.

Lotus Elise:

Exterior
Length: 149 in. Width: 67.7 in.
Height: 44 in. Wheel Base: 90.5 in.
Curb Weight: 1984 lbs. Gross Weight: 2562 lbs.
Interior
Luggage Capacity: 4 cu. ft. Maximum Cargo Capacity: 4 cu. ft.
Maximum Seating: 2

Performance
Base Number of Cylinders: 4 Base Engine Size: 1.8 liters
Base Engine Type: Inline 4 Horsepower: 189 hp
Max Horsepower: 7800 rpm Torque: 133 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 6800 rpm Drive Type: RWD
Turning Circle: 32.8 ft.

Fuel Tank Capacity: 10.6 gal.
EPA Mileage Estimates: (City/Highway)
Manual: 21 mpg / 27 mpg
Range in Miles: (City/Highway)
Manual: 222.6 mi. / 286.2 mi.

So looking at their specs side to side, obviously Porshe is better, but as for the body style, I'd pick the Lotus.

Looking at those specs, I'd take the 1000lb lighter car! Moot anyway, as I don't come close to fighting in an Elise/Exige.

I garuntee you take that POS Boxster and the Lotus Elise to an auto-x and/or a HPDE the Lotus will prevail. The Boxster is a waste! Its for the cheap-ass that can't afford a Porsche. His penis is so small he'll get the Boxster to brag to his yuppy, Docker wearing, three-button Polo, popped collar, sweater hung over he's shoulder tied in the front, co-wokers that he owns a Porsche. I'd take any of the Mazda Speeds over a Boxster. Look at what any magazine compares the Boxster to, the S2000 & Miata. No what in hell you see a Boxster stepping up to the 350Z/G35, Elise/Exige, Audi TT, BMW 3-Series, etc... Instead they use the Cayman S to compare to such cars. And the Cayman S just bearly beats out the 350Z on the road course. The Lotus was built around track use then for public roads. The Boxster was built for the 70y/o retired couple to cruise on Sundays after chruch. You can't compare the two.

I would like to mension that my Dad has have two Boxsters and he is 52. And he is not a cheap ass because he spent $64k on the second one. This is what his looked like. It competed really well on the track, but not as good as his 911.
