Thanks Josh, I'm still on the fence about what to do with the downpipe/exhaust issue... High flow cat is a for sure thing, but not sure what's out there right now or do I what for Cobb?

As with any piggyback, I'm almost positive the ECU has at least some ability to learn around the Standback II. I hope this along with our fuel problems will be addressed with the reflash. Not to say the Standback by itself isn't awesome....I just unplug the battery once a month and reset the ECU, so no big deal. Oh and Brandon, I told you I wasn't getting a DP :D Probably a DNP mani soon :)

that is sad Josh, that you had major issues with version 1 and that has influenced you so much on your opinions about the standback. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I can definitely respect that especially with the issues you had. As stated before, version 2 has had many changes, maybe some of your problems were with version 1, and that pos dp you have.... anyways, so far, I do not have any reason to not believe Jordan, and if he has proof in dynos to back up his statement like he says he does, then there is no reason for me not to trust him.

I still say CP-E is on the front lines when it comes to the speed6, maybe not so much with the speed3's, as there are more comanies into your car than mine as far as aftermarket interest goes. Once the reflash comes out, the standback will only be that much better.

Eric, Also I understand you haven't had any issues yet but you also haven't tuned your car yet. Why do you think tuners wont touch this device? If you are able to get it tuned good then i take back what I said but I guess its a wait and see.

Josh, maybe I'm thinking of this in too simple a manner, but why not just get an aftermarket ECU? Haltech, Wolf, Microtech, AEM, Autronic, Motec and Electromotive are all fully programmable and have multiple models with different levels of open and closed loop progamming built in. You could even set up a map for the emissions station. Is there something I don't know about your car that is preventing this? Or is it just the cost involved? It may just be cheaper in the long run. I imagine you've already spent a few bucks, so I know you're not just being cheap. But wouldn't a couple grand now save you a lot more in damage and frustration later? Plus you can really tune one of the above mentioned ecus on a dyno.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a motec tuner for a speed6 was mentioned on the 6club forums, but for close to $3k. You can do a lot of custom dyno tuning with the standback for less than that, and still see the same gains.

I have no doubt that the flash is being developed specifically for use with the standback , but when I was ready to buy the standback a flash was not an option and version 2 software was just a twinkle in Jordan's eyes.

I originally put money down back in late October of last year, after constant delays I finally cancelled my order, for many reasons, in mid December. I think the things finally shipped out in February or March.

Don't get me wrong, I applaud CPE for pioneering on this car and helping us all out, but I'll wait for all the kinks to be ironed out before I drop the money needed for something like this. There are plenty of willing guniea pigs out there, I am just not one of them.

Tuners wont touch the device becuase they are unfamiliar with it, and you know that.. And what, we have a whole 2 or 3 in the area??? Wow, my options are really good.. There isnt anybody whos had enough experience in this area, thats all it is. You took your car to a guy who knew dick about the standback, and horrible results followed..

Do you honestly think that I will be the only one to get a successful tune out of a speed6? come on, thats nieve. 6club has hundreds of successful tunes with the cp-e, and many at high altitudes.

Like I said, you are entitled to your opinion, and I dont really care if you 'take back what you said' or not. Because of the fact that you had such huge issues with the product does not mean that everybody else will have the same... you go get your +8.6%.. Ill take a weekend trip to Salt Lake, where there are at least 5 experienced tuners that are comfortable and knowledgeable to work on the standback, and yes, I will get a good tune..

ok, im done, :7d3bf976:

Roadrnr06 was my leased 2006 Speed 6 which was purchased on 06-06-06. I have many fond memories of that car, and will be keeping my original profile as a memory of the great car that I once had.

My new user name is Roadrnr09 and showcases my new 09 Subaru WRX which I am very happy to have purchased as a replacement vehicle : )

Ryan from Super Rupair has expressed interest in tuning my car. As with anyone else who isn't familiar with tuning the Standback, I'll give him the software, instructions, and have him consult with Jordan prior to even touching the car. Tuning is basically the same on any car, with subtle differences in how different ECUs react to certain incoming signals. The interface may be new, but it's not representing anything that is foreign. Nick was able to pull how much HP on his First time tuning? All on a Standback I, with never seeing the software or talking to Jordan. I say it can be done if the right approach is taken.

An Electromotive tec3 is $1699, Wolf V500 universal is $1808, Haltech E6X is just over $1300. I don't know what you've spent on the standback or whatever it is you have and all the time tuning, but A fully programable ecu would make the headaches go away. Aparently Motec has a thing about pricing online, but they are out there for under $2k.
