my mechanic found that the radiator was leaking at the upper breathing nipple near the top. There is signs of coolant which has leaked and dried. Apparently the resoviour is empty but there has been enough coolant in the radiator. Now I must look into getting the radiator replaced! Have no idea how this happened, my car has 35K and I have never serviced the coolant until now.
Any ideas on how this happened? What upsets me is I took my car just before the warranty expires to the stupid dealer and they found no problems when doing their inspection. My mechanic believes the leak has been around for some time. Now I wonder if I can make a case out of this and have the dealer at least pay partly for new radiator?
leaking radiator
Sorry about the radiator.
But I seriously doubt Mazda will admit to or pay for anything.
What's the warranty period on a 2005 6i? More importantly, what's the coolant service interval? It's 3 yrs/30,000 miles on my Protege. Not that changing the coolant would have prevented this..............
