Bob Penkhus at Powers Auto Park!

I never thought I'd be singing their praises, after the issues we had with the sale of the CX-9 and the pencil-whipped inspections of my old 6, but today they deserve a pat on the back.

Jen developed a problem about a month ago with the passenger front window on the 9. It would go all the way up, then bounce back down. The Penkhus service department then discovered that the weather stripping around the window was pinched and causing the safety mechanism to trigger and put it back down. They fixed it temporarily with a screwdriver, but said that if it happened again, they'd order the part and replace the stripping.

Well, it did happen again on Monday. I called the service department and got one of their new service managers, Whitney, and explained it to her. She sent me back to Johnny in parts. He had the new stripping overnight-shipped to the dealership. Had the 9 in on Wednesday, gave Jen a 2008 6i as a loaner, and fixed it. They also fixed a problem with the driver's door checker at the same time. Had the 9 back today!

On top of that, they did my oil change in the MS6 today and ACTUALLY inspected the car. They found that the OTHER Bob Penkhus had over-inflated the tires to 50 psi (all four tires), so they took car of that for me.

Their customer care guy told me that they've made some changes to how they do business there to make service better. Whitney is a new employee (and she's a cutey, btw, for all you single fellas) and is actually enthusiastic about the work.

I'm encouraged to see improvements there. Good to know they're trying to make it a better experience for the customer.

She's about 5'2", maybe 110 dripping wet. Blondie. Couple tatts on her forearms. Nice smile.

Oh, and she drove the MS6 without missing a beat.
