so i leave in 2 weeks on a 2000 mile journey to nj and its time i bring in my car to mazda to have them check out the trans... for about a month its been grinding going into second randomly, and even less then second third sometimes under power. not enough to make me tink there is a major problem but enough to want to get it checked out
maybe they can swap out the trans before i go home. last thing i want is to lose second or third

Good luck. I've had absolutely ZERO success, even though everyone that's driven my car can feel a 2nd gear grind. Apparently, I've got some random clutch issue that is only present during the 1-2 shift and no other gear. /sarcasm

Pisses me off...I can only hope it finally breaks completely so I can get it towed in and replaced. Burt's had it three times, and while they can duplicate it, didn't have trained personnel to work on it, and Gateway told me it's my clutch (affecting only 2nd gear??). Which was replaced under warranty (before I bought the car) about 10,000 miles ago.

Same here Tim. I'm Gonna call Sil Te Har Monday and see if they have any Tranny Techs. I hope they do. I want to avoid Lakewood and Gateway at all costs. An McDonald to. Burt was able to duplicate but no techs to open it up and take a look see. Really Sucks.

bringing it in in about 2 hours... my squad leader acted like a was a shit bag for asking not to go on the road march this morning because we wouldn't be back in time to goto the dealer. i guess its not important if my car breaks down while im driving 2000 miles to nj.
