I wish I could get mileage like that lol.... that's awesome Tom! I usually only get around 270-280 miles per tank before the gas light comes on, which usually equates to around 20-22mpg or so.

Hey dommo_g, where do you guys set up meets? Do you guys have a local forum or something?[/b]

We do quarterly meets. We rotate between the Denver area and the north like Ft. C or Longmont and the south like Colo Springs. Never the same thing, and we usually plan a couple months in advance. Our home is www.cosrtoc.net. The forum is pretty much locked down to non-members, but we have a few public sections and we don't restrict anyone from signing up. Our meet info is always publicly viewable.

Some pics from this last one HERE.

That's cool, I never even knew there was a local SRT site, nice.

So, I have a question for you.... you own both an SRT-4 (Neon body style, not Caliber) and a Mazdaspeed 3 right... if they were released at the same time, they would have been direct competitors.... since you own them both, how do they stack up against each other? Not just in a drag race, but overall. I'm assuming the SRT-4 is probably just a tad quicker, but the Speed3 handles better?!? Since you own both of them, obviously you can give a more unbiased opinion than most people. Care the share impressions? :)

Low fuel light came on this morning at 401.4 miles. I'll fill up around 415 later today.

And one thing I remembered about all of this- the previous tank before this one, the fuel light came on and I really stretched the distance. Doubt that this has anything to do with my mileage on this tank though.

After switching back to my summer tires my gas mialage went form 19 to 22 and now my average is about 24-25 and if I did not have such a lead foot I could probably get even better than that but I love the feel of boost too much :20ac3f40:[/b]

damn that's good, I am getting like 25-27 mpg on my n/a i4....wtf?

Filled up tonight on my way home from work.

420 miles and 13.0x gallons pumped = 32.3 mpgs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAYUM! The previous best was 27.x mpgs.

I have been "feathering" the throttle just enough to maintain the speed I want to go. I've also heard this called "throttle tip-in". And I haven't had too many "jack rabbit starts" on this tank.

I guess we'll see if I can duplicate on this new tank or if it was just totally random.

Costco sells gas 15 cents cheaper than the 7-11 across the street. I paid $3.24 two days ago. I still get 15-17 in town, depending on how much time my foot spends in the secondaries(That's a technical term for those of us with carburetors). LOL
But I do get about 23 on the highway.

If you weren't, I'd sugggest you had a problem. Two carburetors, one with a throttleshaft leak, tend to make them use alittle more fuel. Plus mine is a 13b, so instant fuel consumtion increase.

Nice job Tom!

I have been trying the same "feathering" of the throttle (a little harder to manipulate with drive by wire) and acheived 33.3 on my last tank. I average 29-31 (30.53 since I bought the car new), so I did get a slight bump- although it was not as fun to drive...

I am back on the throttle more this week with the nicer weather (windows down and roof open) and am down to around 30 again. Ahh, the pleasure of being NA... :P
