I would've done the same thing if I can get that deal... not sure how I'm going to fit my kids in it though...

Kids tend to be scared of it too. My niece and nephew won't ride in it if they can help it. Right after I got it on a cool night I took off too fast around a corner and lost the tail end for a second. When it snapped back my poor niece's head hit the plastic on the side in the back seat. I felt so bad. Now it's "too noisy" on top of her being afraid she's going to hit her head again lol.

soooo erod, what do you make of all the cylinder #8 failure and MT-82 failure chit chat? I'm a little hesitant to do any kind of work to it now that I read the TSB that says Ford cancels your warranty the second they see any kind of aftermarket part, even axle-backs....

Well, I don't think the #8 failures are all that common and I think most of them were with a certain tuner. I haven't read up on that stuff since I first got the car and was buying mods so it's been a while. I don't think any of the #8 failures were linked to Bama tunes so you should be safe if you go with them. Plus they will give you free re-tunes for life even if you don't buy your new parts from them, so I highly recommend them.

The MT-82 failure thing, some of them are actual failures, some of them are just people being whiny and oversensitive. My MT-82 makes a ton of noise, whines like a supercharger in low gears, but it works fine. I had some trouble getting into first and reverse over this past winter, but I think that may have been in part due to the sloppy shifter bracket. I just installed the short shifter and bracket and shifts have been much more solid and less grindy so I'm hoping that fixes my cold weather shifting too. We'll see in 6 months or so. I still have to be careful not to shift into 5th too fast before it warms up. It doesn't like that. So yea, the MT-82 has its quirks, but a lot of people are putting 500-600hp through it and it holds up fine.

I do have some weird clutch issues at times where the clutch pedal will stick to the floor. It hasn't happened on hard upshifts in quite a while, but it happens now and then if I try to downshift hard without rev matching. The pedal will stick about halfway until the RPMs drop. As long as I do a little heel toe and try to rev match then it doesn't happen.

As for the TSB, that doesn't mean an automatic voided warranty. It just means they'll look for stuff that could have caused the failure. At this altitude, if they try to void my warranty for pushing "more power than stock" and saying that the system can't handle extra horsepower, I'll point out that I'm down ~75hp from people who live at sea level, so the little power I've added hasn't even put as much stress on the drivetrain as a bone stock car at sea level. They still have to prove that your aftermarket part caused the problem before they can deny warranty claims. They can't just say oh you put some mufflers on it so your clutch warranty is void. Well, they can, but it's not likely and it's not good business, and you can fight it if you have the time and a good lawyer.

It really depends on the dealer though, TSB or not. The TSB isn't new information really. All dealers are supposed to look for aftermarket modifications on all cars before doing warranty work. It's just some cars are more likely to have mods than others. And some dealers are more mod-friendly than others.

Got one of these hanging in my garage now. They had a deal going where if you spent more than $100 you got it for free. So I bought a short shifter, you know to save $30, lol.

yeah I figured it wouldn't be as atrociously loud if I bought a system that had mufflers, plus I got a killer deal on them from streetsideauto.com $309.99 - a $30 coupon I found, that banner is hawt
