That's actually really cool. My boss is a huge NASCAR fan, he would love that stuff lol. I'll have to show him. Post a pic of the damaged one?

We were actually in the shop in November when Mark Martin was getting fitted for his seat. He and Waltrip then went off into his office to chat. Funny, Martin's a tiny little dude and Waltrip is rather large.

That I will, I'll snap a pic.

Still think that is a wedge motor. Two valves in line on same side of head. Could only guess at the stroke. I don't know what displacement nascar runs, but it the limit is 350 cubes that stroke would only be 2.75" with a 4.5" piston!
If they have a smaller CID limit, that stroke would get even shorter. That big bore/short stroke would explain how the get engines to live for 500 miles turning 8500+ RPMs.

Formula for a piston engine (sorry rotory guys) boreXboreXstrokeX.7854Xnumber of cylinders.

NASCAR runs a 358. I was slightly generous on my measurement, as I don't have a ruler here at work. It's actually 4.185" bore.

Displacement 358 cu. in.
Power 850 hp
Bore 4.185 in.
Stroke 3.250 in.
Compression Ratio 12.0:1

the nascar engine size is 358ci. I actually guessed this yesterday in the chatbox after a ton of guesses, lol.

So that puts the stroke about 3.26.
