Anyone have insight to value?

Simply going to a higher compression piston should increase HP, right? Then with the extra size of the cylinder, it would increase the amount of fuel per cycle, so more hp. However, it seems like this would require new injectors to push the fuel and would the gen 1 ecu be able to handle it? Should timing be advanced and then, I would assume it would also require use of higher octane fuel?

Seems like a pretty good optio for someone not wanting to do a turbo, but getting a little more hp out of aa NA engine.

Isn't there a 2.5 option on the newer Mazda 3? I would bet you do not need to mess with the injectors, the difference in the displacement is negligible and would simply require a tune.
