Rotary shop, specialists, tuner in CO?

I am a soldier currently deployed to Afghanistan and looking into options for my next duty station to PCS to, my gal is from CO so shes hellbent on talking me into getting stationed at FT Carson in Colorado springs. I have a 93 RX7 and am trying to find out if there are even any shops that specialize or have staff that specialize in rotary and RX7s, most importantly 3rd gen FD. I'll be starting a pretty big build when I get home so gott have access to places that know what they are doing. Thanks for any info

As far as i know there is no Rotary Shop here in CO. I build my own engine.

No shops from what I have seen but the community here is very supportive and will more than likely help with anything you need.

I plan to do as much of the build myself as possible but im no mechanical expert, didnt really grow up around the stuff so I kinda learn as I go so its nice to have experts to turn to when you need help. Ok so you guys work on your cars yourself cool, how do yall get tuned?

I'm pretty sure chickenwafer does most of the rotary tuning for CMZC members, lol.
As mentioned, DWalker is here on the forums with a professional shop in Denver, but I'm not 100% on how rotary specific you might consider it.
The 7 community here is very supportive though.

I'll hit him up and ask. As much as a community is supportive its one thing to be able to rely on ppl who owe you nothing to help you with getting work done, its another thing when a business and customer relationship means work will get done. Its easier to know for sure that youll have help to turn to. Every RX7 owner knows how touchy they are and most owners spend more time owning the car with it down than actually being up and driven. Im not trying to be one of those owners lol.

welcome. There is also another shop called precision imports that used to be only rotary specific. But has started doing non rotary cars. I know their "IT" guy and he has had them work on his friends lt1 fd. And his own fc too.

but there are rx7 owners here that help out a lot.

another question is you said you were planning some big mods, just how big are we talking cause some people consider just a new set of coilovers, and turbo back exhaust a major mod where as i look at is as something that is bolt on catagory of parts, if we talking pulling the engine apart putting in different rotors, porting the engine, and doing a complete stand alone ecu then we on the same page.

Lol well im upgrading suspension, fuel system, ignition system, swapping to single turbo, v-mount intercooler/radiator setup, standalone ecu, water/meth injection, ec. Heres an idea of parts im planning:

GTX35R single turbo kit
rx7store v-mount intercooler/radiator
Haltech PS1000 standalone
Aquamist HFS3v2 water/methenol injection system along with RX7summer
atomicrex racing pillow balls and powerflex bushing set
tein super drift coilovers
HKS twin power ignition
CJ motorsports stage 1 fuel rail w/ injectors and FPR
downpipe/midpipe/catback
act street/strip clutch
ect

Ive already got the aquamist water/meth injection system, sakebomb garage bi-xenon hid projector headlights, racing pillow balls and the bushing sitting back at home, got 12k sitting in a saving account at home, 3k in checking and standing to make another 12k before I get home. Literally im planning to intially spend just over 20k in parts for this build. My engine is very fresh it was rebuilt and has maybe 2k miles on it now. My plan is to make in the 400RWHP mark reliably on pump fuel without breaking the engine open and have it be reliable. Later the plan will be to prob have it sent off and street ported and prob a bit bigger turbo to get into the 500-600rwhp mark

sounds like a lot of fun but have you looked at turbo's cause instead of getting a gt35r i would recomend the borg warner 366 with either the .91 ar hot side or 1.0 and you should run about 420 hp to the wheels without putting boost over 16psi and they can go up to 500+hp with the boost turned up to about 22 psi and water meth. also is cheaper than a gt35 and is rebuildable.

Hmmm i'll look into that, ive never run a borg warner turbo before. You by chance know which manifold would fit that turbo for an FD?
