I'm now gonna have to make a custom midpipe with a high temp cat, fit an electric air pump, run E85, and create an emissions map on my AEM. I should be able to do it, but I won't like it.

Is the standard of passing the same as in Denver? Or do we have different regs? I couldn't find any clues as to what C02 or whatever other "dangerous" gas levels are the maximum for passing

So it looks like the emissions test for '82 and newer vehicles requires a 240-second (4 minute) "actual road test" on the dyno that "simulates real driving conditions". So, pretty much I'm screwed...unless I can pay off a worker at the station.

My other idea is make an exhaust cutout in the midpipe that will route a majority of the exhaust gas out another pipe under the car with a muffler attached, so the exhaust pipe the tester hooks up to won't be pushing out much exhaust LOL

In Denver they pop the hood and also look under the car with one of those 'mirror-on-a-sticks' for fishiness, but give it a try anyway... After I had failed twice, someone told me to use fuel-cleaner, a fresh tank of gas + taking out the air filter and I got my hoop to barely pass. Fuuuug emissions!

It didn't say anything here about any visual inspection, so I don't know.

The biggest problem is it's a rotary, which burns oil by design. I need to replace my twin turbos because the primary is leaking oil, which is hurting the tail pipe emissions even more obviously. I think going E85 will allow me to pass easily.

The main problem is the closest station to me is over 15 miles away...not very convenient.

There isn't any fuel station that I know of near SCR...closest would be the Shell at Eisenhower and Boise, but it doesn't have E85.

As far as I know, Loveland has no E85 stations, including the towns near Loveland (Beathoud, Miliken, Johnstown, Windsor). Fort Collins is the closest, and the closest station to me with E85 is Horsetooth and Shields, which isn't exactly next door.

^LOL, I've considered getting a PO Box in Cheyenne and attempting to regiester my car up there. It's just slightly illegal though, since I don't have a military fall back or anything

I had a friend who actually did that in Phoenix. His RX-7 couldn't pass Phoenix emissions so he got a PO box in Prescott and registered it up there. So every two years he would go up there and get his tags, luckily it was only 1.5hrs away so not a big deal.
