So yesterday I get on the horn with Meeker to find out about heading up to Greeley to get a new part installed on my car. We make the plans, and I leave the lovely greater-DTC area. First stop is Brighton, where I have to return my Dad's computer (which I just fixed for him).
Somewheres just south of 88th Ave, I make a full-zoot pass on a caravan of cars, and all of a sudden my 6 goes a big fat jello'y one on me. Steering is way off, noises start sprouting up that I haven't heard before, and... well... there's a certain odor to things.
So I've never actually experienced a flat tire before, but I'm guessing these are the symptoms. I decided to hobble myself off the next exit, and over to the closest gas station.

A series of unfortunate events (with a good ending...)
After about 40 minutes of unloading the trunk, digging out all of my spare-gear, and looking up in the book how to actually do it, I get myself road-worthy again. Pack things back up, and I limp into Brighton and get my Dad's PC all setup and ready to rock again. So now I'm calling around the various tire shops in Brighton (and surrounding areas), and of course not a single place that I call has *any* tires that will fit my wheels. Nothing. Allegedly, low-pro tires aren't something that most stores keep "on the shelf".
I finally decide to get on the CMZC, and remember that thread from a couple weeks ago, about a nice tire sale at Firestone. Sweet! The sales is still going, but it ends today (8/31)! Again I get back on the phone... As it turns out, the only Firestone stores that actually have these tires in stock are the stores in Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, and... you guessed it.... Greeley. Oh yeah, at this point in the day, the store is closing in about an hour!

.... So finally I rush (as much as you can "rush" on a space saver donut), from Brighton into Greeley, and thankfully they stay open a bit late for me, to get my new tires on. Phew! Disaster averted.
But now I'm thinking to myself "Well hey?... I'm here...", so I get Randy back on the phone again. Long story short, he's still willing to have me come over, despite the sun setting on the horizon. I head over, and he - very patiently I might add - spends the next couple hours installing a new Turbine Tech front motor mount for me.
So what began as a pretty shitty ordeal and an abortion of a day, ended up being pretty okay in the long run. All the credit in the world goes to both Randy, and the staff over at Firestone Greeley. There must be something in the water up there, because everybody was willing to go above and beyond to help me get situated.
Of course this new FMM has me putting my new tires on the fast track to early retirement again, but hey.... You gotta test things out, right?
=)

Ha! Thanks man. I was wondering if you were going to be outside listening, when I gave it the whip. And yes... I love the mount. I think about 100 people have said it before me, but the car should have came this way!
