Roadster Tech day at Shadow's
So yesterday I went to visit Shadow and we pulled the left axle out on the solstice to replace a leaking axle seal. It was a good learning experience and I think we could do it in half the time if it needed redone. So far no new puddles under the car so I think it was a success. Then we got in his S...

Re: A new garage, hope I do it right.
I haven't been keeping this up to date well. I like your idea of a thick section for a lift. I'd like you to come visit and help me plan the pour. Shadow, Mrs. Shadow and some friends came out and helped frame the garage. The girlfriend and I sheathed it. It's moving along pretty well. IMG_20171028_...

Funny guy, You taught me that the passenger mirror is convex. and at a much more severe angle in the housing. Since your not giving up your Ganadors yet, I went with OEM.

Re: The Ẽfini 7
Not much has changed, car has just been parked for the most part. No time to spare to work on it with all the house stuffs. I did replace the shifter and brake boots and installed a new brake lever from an S8. Also installed a replacement mirror I got from Australia (RHD problems), and got the headl...

And a Visor, but it is removed for repair right now. Super 90s styled square body!

Re: Car haulin
This would be a good test bed for that kind of stuff. It's a torsion axle so I was contemplating a hydraulic Jack that would turn it to point up when loading and then level it out for travel. But for now I think the extra 2-3 inches gained by a moveable fender would help alot! It got it's first real...

So it seems like every few months I need a trailer for something, and I have neither the space or funds currently available for the one I want. So I picked up something to work in the mean time. It was custom made to haul a VW powered sandrail thingy, so the length is good for most cars and the fram...

Re: 1967 Mercury Cougar
That is some soot!! Maybe remove the carburetor and just put a smaller fuel hose directly into the manifold so it runs a little leaner! Glad it is all sorted out. Sad I missed the chat to have a Holley vs Edelbrock debate with Mr. Cool. Get a cheapo plug abrasive cleaner at HF and you can have those...

Big brake kits!
Found a good Chinese company you can buy race brakes from. Gonna see if they will sponsor me so I can have their company name across my windshield!

Re: A new garage, hope I do it right.
That is interesting. I had been meaning to ask you about the wall mounted openers and if they would allow the tracks to be up against the ceiling. Looked up a few 2 post lifts, all recommended 4" 2500psi minimum. I'm going to be using 3500psi so you still feel I should go thicker? I dislike hav...

Re: A new garage, hope I do it right.
At 28' deep I hope to be able to have room for 3 cars and the bikes in front being that the Solstice and the FD are both fairly short (About 14'). But I would like a decent sized area for fabrication. Also with the 12' ceiling height I need to do some research on garage doors that won't hang down in...

A new garage, hope I do it right.
The house building has reached the point of starting work on the garage structure. It will be 28' x 31' with a small 8' single car door and a larger 16' door. I am excited about the opportunities at hand. Let me know what I should do with it!

Re: A VW for DW
It has been pretty good so far. It had a very minor exhaust leak that quickly turned major. Metal gasket between the turbo and the exhaust mani, apparently notorious for failing on these little Audi turbo 4s. It was relatively easy to access but an absolute pain to get all the old gasket material fl...
