Re: MS3X'd FD
I never have left fuel on. My thought was it's such a brief time and I was already premixing at a higher then necessary ratio that there was enough residual oil to keep things protected. Now here's a crazy thought.. a friend of mine pioneered a mod to the stock omp to use a reservoir of two stroke o...

Re: Public Service Announcement
Their large displays look awesome! If I wasn't such a sucker for the stock CD player in rx7s, I would have got the large display and mounted it in the dash.

Re: Public Service Announcement
It seems to do well in direct sunlight as well as being viewable from angles. It's also a touch screen. It is dimmable but only during the configuration through software so you can't dim it when your lights turn on. Here's the website link. Make sure to scroll to the bottom of the product page and s...

Re: MS3X'd FD
I've always been a pre-mixer so I've never attempted to control an OMP. I do have a four channel data logger tho which would be pretty easy to make log the OMP feedback as well as some other signals to approximate load for the stock ECU controlled OMP. Unfortunately I don't know of a simple way to r...

Re: Public Service Announcement
This is cool... I was having a hard time trying to figure out where/how to place a boost gauge and an AFR gauge to keep everything looking classy and also stock as possible. I found a panel display that's programmable. It pretty much a display that takes two voltage inputs ( 0 to 40 VDC) and is powe...

Re: MS3X'd FD
Ha. Yea.. it's definitely a learning experience! I'm pretty familiar with the MS in general but the ms3 chip and the ms3x expansion card are new to me. I do like the easy of getting all the features you want with the combo. We used to have to design and build individual electronics circuits for each...

Re: MS3X'd FD
How do you like the MS3X so far? I decided to upgrade the MS1 V3 to an MS3X for the vert build.

Got the wheels back from powder coat and started polishing rims as well. Color turned out great! Cat reluctantly approves. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x292/monkhommey/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20170221_164237_zpsmmwubz2z.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x292/monkhommey/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_2...

Re: Paint Shop Recommendations
Thanks for the heads up! Hope all works out well for both the painter and for your car. I am getting close to being ready to go to paint, just waiting on a replacement tii hood scoop. I called them a couple weeks ago and they seem to have there act together.

Re: My 1974 REPU Project
Ha. That's as good of a reason as any! I had to check out the videos.. that thing looks like it's trying to kill him every time it gets in to boost.. It's pretty awesome!! Not that you need a bug in your ear.. but I do have the machinery to build a peripheral port.. just sayin'. Even have a spare mo...

Re: My 1974 REPU Project
How much power do you think you'll shoot for? Are you considering dowling or studding the motor to handle it?

Re: Public Service Announcement
Ha. I think I had a conversation with Eric the last time I went. Hopefully time mends that wound! It's one of my favorite trips to take. Speaking of JDM tight yo shifters... The vert came with a extended shifter and a marbled white plastic knob. It started to grow on me until I had to drive it! So I...

Re: Public Service Announcement
At the moment.. nope. I sold my lathe not long ago and I haven't bought a new one yet. Hoping to make space for a bigger machine and get something in the next few months tho. I didn't realize how much I used the lathe until it was gone! I would be willing to give it a shot. Just have to finish the V...

Re: Public Service Announcement
It's my brother's car, but he's in West Virginia. He came across a rhd front clip a few years back and I've been helping him slowly convert a FD roller. I built the motor and helped with the wiring conversion. I'm the only Colorado rotary own that I know is making the trek to deals Gap this year.

Re: Public Service Announcement
It is super handy! It's not mine.. but I use it pretty constantly. It's a maker gear I believe. Ive used it for prototyping before CNC cutting, for making finished components, and I'm also working on some techniques to go from 3d printed objects to cast aluminum. That one is a bit tricky. I have abo...
