Re: A new garage, hope I do it right.
I got the slab poured and final measurements for the doors. I'm gonna call Clopay today and ask about the highlift option as all the local dealers seem to know nothing.
Started on the deck also!

Been messing around online mostly and the best Iv'e found so far are Clopay doors, but when you go through the online door build it won't option high lift tracks unless you select "commercial doors" I can't see why it would make any difference though.

Its all coming together slowly. Garage slab will be poured on 4/13. Then I can start door shopping. looking for highlift doors and the only thing I can find is conversions for existing doors. I'm not sure if you can buy a setup already designed that way. IMG_20180406_131501.jpg IMG_20180403_153935.j...

Re: Front 4 Club
Interesting. Why limiting to FWD? don't wanna have the Miata gang involved?? $3500 to build a wheel to wheel tech passing car is crazy cheap?! he must have don't the cage himself or got a freebie because that usually costs around 3k by itself. Looks fun but I think the price may be misleading. I nee...
Re: CAD play
That is what I thought at first but it all is perfectly aligned. Here is a screenshot of a top view of the wireframe model, wireframe.jpg A screenshot of the same view as a solid. solid.png And finally a render of that same view. renderedtop.jpg I think I just don't know enough about render settings...

Messed with lighting a bit, put some tire paint on, drilled the rotors and painted the calipers. Need to spend time on my real one but the house will be dominating my time for the foreseeable future. Its weird that the doors make those weird shadows when I do a render. 2-8.jpg Here is what the view-...

Rhinoceros 4, its a NURBS modeling CAD/CAM program that works well with my CNC machine.
Re: CAD play
I'm not really sure, been trying to sort that out. The meshes don't seem to play well together there. Like in those renders it looks like the door doesn't match the lines of the car body, but it does.

Iv'e been stuck at a desk at work today so Iv'e been playing with a CAD RX-7 FD model I found online.
Had to paint it red, slam it, put some TE37's and my Odula wing on it.

Those rotor screws are a pain. I don't even try to take them out without the impact driver.
A company called Gard makes some very high quality left handed drills if you are ever looking to buy some good bolt / screw extraction stuff.

Re: A new garage, hope I do it right.
The issue I see with placing it in the center bay is that it would always be in the way. At least with it to one side I can park daily without worrying about hitting it with my door.
