I completed the brake job this evening. Hmm looks like it will be a few more days before I can test all the work I did. Freaking rain and snow mix over the weekend and Friday. Hmm I am going into DTs and have the shakes from not driving my toy all winter. Now that it is road ready again the DTs are ...

Took the Miata out of Winter Storage

Man it felt great to drive the Miata one day this week. Took her up thru Deer Creek Pass, would have taken the high grade pass with 10 MPH switch backs but a diesal truck was in front of me at the cross road. Nothing worse then sucking diesal with the top down.

Got to take the Miata out for a drive

We had a few nice days last week and I had to clean out the garage because the other 2 cars are due for an Oil Change. Drove the Miata for 2 days last week and took it out of hibernation and damn it was a little rough of a ride the first day. Between the flat spots and me not dropping the tire press...

Was not me I did most my tire spinning on the dirt road on the 1/2 mile I live off of leading to 285 up in the mountains and a little bit in Aspen Park when I hit the real roads. Work down in Sedalia and 470 was a mess when I hit Wadsworth. Freaking parking lot for a mile. Santa Fe was just a sheet ...

The two best rated studless snow tires are Michilens X Ice and Bridgestones Blizzaks. I went for the number 2 rated Blizzaks on 16" rims for my 2008 Mazda 3. I must say I am impressed with them. I blew by most people this morning with control of the car. I had to do a few tests like locking up the b...

You don't put it up on jack stands? Jack stands are bad for the suspension all kidding aside I would be better off pulling all the tires and putting concrete blocks under the rotors. Think I will park in the yard on concrete blocks and be one of the Yard People. I have shit in the garage I can thro...

On my Mazda 3 I installed 16" Bridgestone Blizzaks. Found a set of 16" rims for my 3 on Criagslist for $150.00 back in October. Pulled my 17" stock rims off and installed the 16" Rims. Tires are about $20.00 bucks cheaper per tire. This almost covered the price of the rims and will save me money in ...

Miata put to bed for the winter

Well, The last ride in the Miata was 11/15 on Sunday. The wife and took it for one last fun in the sun day with the top down. It has been garaged for the rest of the winter. Last Sunday I finished the bed time for it. Tires have been filled up to 40 PSI to prevent flat spots over the winter. StaBil ...

how many of you change you own oil

Well I am on my second oil change for my 3 and it is a pain in the ass. One reason I do not trust oil change places to change my oil. This is not a bitch but We have to remove 7 bolts and two plastic pins to get to the oil filter. Well when I work on my cars it is done on a beer factor. how many bee...

Driving in the snow and ice

Well I got my first hand experience today with 2008 mazda 3 on snow and ice. I live up in conifer and the snow started flying as I walked out the door at 6:45 am this morning. I got down to Aspen Park and blizzard like snow flying. Just below that an SUV was flipped over on the south bound side of 2...

I was out a car show this past summer in Byers where my little sis lives and they were promoting this track. A couple of older dudes had 2 vintage Formula Fords promoting the track at this small event on July 4. If my old mind serves me right they had a 1969 and a 1972 Formula Ford on display. I wou...
