Re: Build thread

I've gotten a bit out of pocket with planned projects lately lol. I recently realized that I could have the ECU control the oil cooler fans and a possible IC fan, and I could use stock wiring and unused stock relays. I'm going to use the ABS fuse to power the IC fan, and then ground the fan through ...

Re: Build thread

I disabled the flex fuel sensor in the tune and disconnected it and idled the car last night, the trigger tooth count looks just like it does with the sensor connected, so I'm pretty sure it didn't fix my issue but I haven't driven the car and logged it to be sure.

Re: Build thread

I found someone on youtube that built their own digital dash using pretty much the same things I used, except he built his own Arduino board instead of using the one from OneGauge or someone else. He did use the same board though. I found him on IG and messaged him and he suggested getting on his Di...

Re: Build thread

I swapped the coils a couple weeks ago when they finally came in and took some logs that night but didn't get a chance to look until we got back from our two week vacation Sunday night. It looks like the problem is still there just going based on trigger tooth count. So I guess it could still be the...

Re: Build thread

Oh I swapped to Colorado registration 10 years ago when I retired from the AF, and for all its faults, that's one annoying thing this state doesn't do lol. I rewired the fuel pump relays to the ignition switch and it's working. I still have a chirp from the TMS4 but it's every few seconds and only a...

Re: Build thread

I've gotten a little more direction on the power issue from 7club members. Apparently having 12V coming out of the relay is normal, and after a further explanation of how the ECU works, I guess power coming out of the two wires is normal too, as it dissipates any power from the relay. Also, Brad and...

Re: Build thread

Friday night I completely removed the coolant fan module harness. I had pulled the module out years ago but only just now did the harness. It kinda sucks because the connector for X-14 is now up behind the AC box and a pain to connect the harness, but hopefully I won't need to remove it too often an...

Re: Build thread

I bought some coils from SBG last week and they're still not here, and I hadn't received any emails about shipping. I contacted them yesterday and they said they were out of stock but expecting a resupply and that I'd have them within the next couple weeks. So glad I asked, and I'm glad I didn't pay...

Re: Build thread

I talked to Haltech and they told me they'd swap out the TPMS for me, but I'm still thinking it's just power backfeeding or something to cause the chirping. And I guess the ground issue isn't actually back, because apparently the ECU connects them even with the power off. At least that's what resear...

Re: Build thread

Apparently, modifying the name of a file on the SD card for the Autovox will cause it to boot loop lol. I had added to the file name of the video where I almost T-boned the idiot on 105, and once I removed all the files, the dashcam is working fine now. I was looking into the CAN wiring last night a...

Re: Build thread

The issue with the Autovox seems to be the SD card. I had just put it back in after having it out for a couple months, and I had changed the name on the video of the truck crossing in front of me, so I'm wondering if that's why it's losing its mind. I'm going to reformat it and see if that fixes it....

Re: Build thread

I think the coolant seepage is fixed. I bought some gaskets and a new thermostat and seal, but Napa had thermostat seals also so I picked up one from them, and it occurred to me that it was probably just that and dripping down onto the water pump making it look like it was leaking also. I pumped out...

Re: Build thread

I got the car back to driving last week and I've been driving it most days this week. I do have a slight coolant seepage where the water pump mates to the manifold, and also where the filler neck mounts to the manifold. I reused the water pump gasket because it was still good from when I replaced it...

Re: Build thread

I started the car and bled the coolant and power steering tonight, but I discovered a couple problems. I think I have an issue with the front harness that I installed three years ago, or the junction box by the driver's left foot. The EGI relay is getting power as soon as I connect the battery, and ...

Re: Build thread

I worked for almost 12 hours yesterday trying to finish the car so I could attend the meet, but no luck. I almost finished it tonight though. I assembled the most of the dash, finished the fuel pump harness, and picked up more coolant and power steering fluid. I pumped almost all the fuel out of the...
